AFCA is seeking feedback from members on two key Approach documents relevant to superannuation complaints:

  • AFCA’s Approach to sections 29(6) and 29(7) of the Insurance Contracts Act 1984 (superannuation) (new), focusing on sections 29(6) and 29(7) of the Insurance Contracts Act 1984, and
  • AFCA’s Approach to delayed insurance claims in superannuation (amended), with minor updates that do not alter the substance of the existing approach.

The consultation period runs from Monday, 9 September 2024, to Monday, 30 September 2024. We encourage members to review these documents and provide their feedback by the deadline.

These draft Approaches aim to provide greater clarity on what to expect from AFCA processes, ensuring that our investigations and decisions are transparent and consistent. They are informed by input from a broad range of stakeholders and are intended to support the efficient resolution of disputes.

Please submit your feedback by Monday, 30 September 2024. AFCA will review all submissions and publish the final updated Approaches later in the year.

For more details, including how to participate in the consultation, please visit the AFCA consultation page.
