Over the past few months, we have been consulting on AFCA’s Approaches to Responsible Lending and Appropriate Lending to Small Business. The Approaches were developed in response to calls from stakeholders to provide greater clarity around AFCA’s existing approach and to ensure consistency in AFCA complaint outcomes in these complex areas.

Incoming adjustments to AFCA’s monetary limits and compensation caps (1 January 2024)

AFCA is required to make adjustments to our compensation caps and monetary limits every three years in line with CPI/ wage indexation, as required by ASIC Regulatory Guide 267 and the AFCA Rules.

Complainants lodged more than 8,400 complaints with AFCA in October 2023, up 4% from October 2022.
